For decades the town situated in the south of Berlin is known as a resort for its big lake and forest covered hills. The Seehotel Berlin-Rangsdorf on the lake shore has a great panorama view and many other restaurants in town offer a variety of dishes from German to Italian and Chinese cuisine.

Vacation rentals as well as rooms are available on site and guarantee you'll have a pleasant stay.

The community has grown considerably in recent years. Schools and daycare offer educational programs of various kinds. There are many sports clubs and different cultural institutions. Many shopping opportunities are available in the area: from bakery to butcher, various supermarkets and even large shopping mall, the Südring Center. As for medical care: a number of specialists are located on site. There's a senior citizens' residence in the center of town too.

All that contributes to the fact that people really feel at home in Rangsdorf.

The considerable increase of the population (to more than 11.000 inhabitants in 2016) is also indicative of this positive development.

The trend of the recent years has shown that the town is on the right track. As for the district of Groß Machnow, it has become an important center for the logistics industry in Brandenburg. There are jobs for people with different skill sets.

Among the most important tasks is to further improve living conditions for families with children and for senior citizens. Your ideas, suggestions and criticism can help to better prioritize the future development of the municipality.

Rangsdorf maintains active sister city relationships with other European towns: to Fardella in southern Italy, to Pieniezno in Eastern Poland. A student exchange is currently going on to develop a partnership with the municipality of Mayet in France. A partnership with the city of Lichtenau in North Rhine-Westphalia already exists for many years.

Rangsdorf is fairly easy to reach:

As mayor I would be glad to welcome you as a guest or new inhabitant in the municipality of Rangsdorf!

Sincerely, Klaus Rocher

Mayor of Rangsdorf
